Skype For Business Mac
The Skype For Business preview for OS X was released this week allowing users that have been waiting since 2013 to see some of its new features. Currently Microsoft is releasing this client in stages, the first stage being limited to only allowing it to be used for meetings.
While the context of the release seems appropriate for Microsoft in testing, in its current form its only a preview release and will with that provide basic functionally and use.
Now, from someone who has been using Lync since 2010 and have been batteling the endless crashes with 2013 the OS X client its a sigh of relief that we are closer. The look and feel of the client is much more in-line with the current move towards rebranding Lync to Skype For Business however, with that we are still in a waiting pattern to see what Microsoft really pulls off with this update.
If you are part of the Skype Preview program this is now available for you to sign up for (www.skypepreview.com). I as well as many others feel that Skype For Business has come a long way since the Lync days, but its been severely lacking on its rival platform Apple.
